Description

Stantec is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a Sewage Treatment Plant Project in Dubai.

This project involves rehabilitating an existing Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to enhance its efficiency and expanding its capacity to approximately 435,000 m³/day. The selected candidate should have extensive experience with local sewage treatment facilities, including managing construction works and optimizing operational processes within existing STPs according to specifications.

The responsibilities include:

1. Rehabilitation and repair of civil works
2. Extension of the plant capacity to around 175,000 m³/day
3. Rehabilitation of the existing 260,000 m³/day STP

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess:

• A relevant degree from a recognized university
• At least 15 years of experience with equipment and control systems in sewage treatment plants
• Thorough knowledge of work systems within Dubai Municipality sewage treatment plants
• Experience with mechanical, electrical equipment, and instrumentation within STPs and pumping stations
• Experience in designing infrastructure works
• Experience handling emergency works and coordinating with Dubai Municipality and other authorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Primavera 3
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Decision-making capabilities
