As a Technical / Design Manager - Landscape, you will lead and manage the design process throughout the project lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with clients, design consultants, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives align with client requirements and expectations.

You will support the Programme Director/Design Director or Senior Project Manager to ensure scope delivery meets AtkinsRealis and client standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure adherence to AtkinsRealis processes, forms, and deliverables, and apply client processes as required.
  2. Assist in developing the scope of services for Lead Design Consultants (LDC).
  3. Manage and assist clients with the procurement of Design Consultants.
  4. Develop and implement the Design Management Plan (DMP).
  5. Create a design responsibility matrix to clarify roles among the Client, PMC, Design Consultants, and stakeholders.
  6. Assist in developing the Project Quality Plan.
  7. Manage the LDC: ensure quality, timely, within-budget deliverables that meet client expectations.
  8. Oversee and coordinate activities of Design Consultants throughout the project cycle, including planning, organizing, and directing.
  9. Act as the primary contact between the Client and the LDC team, facilitating effective communication.
  10. Manage the Design Process, including weekly workshops, stage gate submissions, presentations, and approvals.
  11. Review consultant deliverables for compliance with project brief and client requirements.
  12. Assist with stakeholder invitations, agendas, meeting minutes, and presentations.
  13. Coordinate with Document Controllers to maintain project information in SharePoint.
  14. Support Change Management processes, collaborating with Cost and Commercial Teams.
  15. Assist in value management during design stages.
  16. Identify and manage risks affecting schedule, budget, quality, and compliance.
  17. Monitor and manage the design schedule with Project Controls and LDC.
  18. Ensure all LDC activities comply with BIM requirements, supported by the BIM Manager.
  19. Oversee sustainability requirements in line with project and client specifications, with LEED support.
  20. Develop statutory approval workflows in coordination with stakeholders and authorities.
  21. Oversee the preparation of technical documentation for construction tenders.
  22. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of experience as a design manager on hospitality projects.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture.
  • LEED accreditation is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in the region, preferably in Saudi Arabia.
  • Ability to work in a team and be client-facing.
  • Active leadership style.
