Job Description

Job Family Definition: Sales Specialists & Consultants are experts in products, services, software, or solutions, responsible for leading pursuits in their focus areas. They collaborate with Account Managers, support the sales team with specialized expertise, and drive proactive campaigns to build pipelines. They prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close opportunities, often managing named accounts, specific geographies, or high-potential attack accounts.

Management Level Definition: Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues, recommending appropriate solutions. Works on problems of diverse complexity, may lead teams or projects, and exercises independent judgment. Seeks advice for complex issues.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new opportunities and expand existing ones to build and manage the sales pipeline.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors to position HPE's offerings effectively.
  • Develop pursuit plans and align them with account management strategies.
  • Build professional, consultative relationships with clients by understanding their unique business needs.
  • Contribute to proposal development, negotiations, and deal closures.
  • Support account managers with technical expertise and client engagement, including C-level interactions for complex solutions in smaller accounts.
  • Collaborate with internal and external experts to anticipate customer needs and develop solutions, facilitating knowledge transfer.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven success in achieving sales quotas.
  • Extensive vertical industry knowledge.
  • Technical experience with SDWAN and SSE solutions.
  • Typically 5-8 years of advanced sales experience.

  • Deep knowledge of products, solutions, and competitors.
  • Understanding of industry and market segments.
  • Knowledge of IT roles and how HPE solutions address industry challenges.
