JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is presently looking to hire a Risk Management Engineer for ADNOC Offshore Central Engineering Division in Abu Dhabi. Below are more details about the position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

The Project Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing risks throughout the lifecycle of oil and gas projects. This includes ensuring risk mitigation strategies are embedded in project planning and execution to safeguard timelines, budgets, safety, and compliance.

The position takes accountability for the planning, development, and management of the Risk Management Plan. It must integrate the risk function across all projects and support project teams in line with the Project Risk Management Framework & ERM Framework.

This includes:

  • Project Risk Standards
  • Project Support (Portfolio, Programme, and Project Levels)
  • Risk Identification, Analysis, and Mitigation
  • Risk Communication and Consultation
  • Facilitation and Presentations

Additional key activities include:

  • Facilitation of risk reviews during project phases.
  • Ensuring alignment with Group Risk Management Standards.
  • Supporting the development of contracts from a risk perspective.
  • Aligning risk tolerance principles among stakeholders.
  • Regular risk reviews and calibration of risks across projects.
  • Tracking treatment actions and analyzing their efficacy.
  • Supporting risk quantification for forecasting and contingency planning.
  • Developing and maintaining risk registers and documentation.
  • Monitoring risk status and reporting trends.
  • Engaging with contractors and vendors on risk practices.
  • Contributing to lessons learned and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with standards and quality assurance.

Other responsibilities encompass risk assessment, stakeholder communication, risk register management, and integration of risk mitigation into project execution plans.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Project Management, Risk Management, or related field.
  • Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMI-RMP, Prince2, ISO 31000) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in project risk management, preferably in oil and gas.
  • Experience with risk analysis tools like SAFRAN, Deltek Acumen, Primavera Risk Analysis, @RISK, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of project controls, planning, and HSE risk factors.
  • Quantitative skills in statistics, scientific modeling, or financial modeling are advantageous.
Skills
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep understanding of Risk Management processes and systems.
  • Experience in cost and schedule risk modeling.
  • Knowledge of project scheduling.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
