Job Purpose
The Planning Engineer will effectively supervise and develop the functions within Operational Planning, Asset LifeCycle Management, Scheduling, and Reliability & Data Integrity & Standards Group (DISG) sections for all aircraft types, engines, and components. The role involves preparing, planning, conducting technical reviews, analysis, verification, regulatory and performance reporting of key airworthiness tasks, and reliability information, ensuring that the Emirates fleet is maintained to the required standards of quality and airworthiness as defined by the regulatory authority and Engineering Procedures Manual.
In This Role You Will
- Participate in change programs by engaging in projects and project teams aimed at creating and implementing positive and proactive change culture.
- Manage the daily work program of the unit, evaluate work quality, review systems and procedures for efficiency, ensure workload is balanced, and implement necessary improvements.
- Represent the section in meetings, escalate issues affecting and delaying modification implementations.
- Supervise and organize team resources to ensure staff are trained, guided, motivated, and developed to meet fleet growth, system enhancements, and performance standards. Oversee process and procedure improvements when deploying new technologies.
- Manage specific areas of the LifeCycle, review documentation such as Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Modifications, and maintenance histories for End-Of-Lease activities.
- Supervise control and response to discrepancies related to LLPs and support investigations on compliance issues.
- Oversee improvements in processes and procedures during the adoption of new technologies.
- Participate in the Outsourced Maintenance project team, managing check packages, quality checks, documentation, and liaising with the MRO for material requisition and documentation management.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Degree or Honours (12+3) or equivalent in Engineering or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's Licence.
- At least 5 years of engineering experience, including maintenance planning, aircraft scheduling, reliability, and asset management, preferably on Emirates fleet types.
- Minimum 2 years in an MRO or airline environment managing people and performance.
- Comprehensive understanding of aircraft systems, regulatory requirements, and maintenance documentation.
- Knowledge of MSG 3 logic, MRB deviation, configuration control, and management.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of ULTRAMAIN is advantageous.
- Understanding of Asset Management related to aircraft End-Of-Lease activities, with MRO knowledge being a plus.
