The Cloud Operations Architect role offers an opportunity to drive our customers' innovative spirit across all technologies, including Compute, Storage, Database, Big Data, Application-level Services, Networking, Serverless, Deployment, Security, and more. This is not a sales role but a chance to be the principal technical advisor and voice of the customer to organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500 enterprises.

The Role

As a Cloud Operations Architect, you will craft and execute strategies to promote AWS service adoption, including EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, IoT, and others. Your technical expertise and customer-facing skills will enable you to represent AWS effectively within customer environments and engage with senior leadership on incidents, tradeoffs, support, and risk management.

You will provide advocacy and strategic guidance to help plan and build solutions using best practices, proactively maintaining operational health of AWS environments. Building close relationships with customers will help you understand their business and technical challenges, enabling them to derive maximum value from AWS. Travel of 10% or more may be required.

About AWS Support

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) focus on driving revenue growth across small, midmarket, and enterprise accounts, including the public sector. The AWS Support team collaborates with leading companies, emphasizing world-class support as vital to customer success, especially for mission-critical applications built on AWS.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Advise on solutions, provide technical guidance, and advocate for customers.
  2. Ensure AWS environments remain operationally healthy while reducing costs and complexity.
  3. Develop trusting relationships, understanding customer business needs and technical challenges.
  4. Drive technical discussions on incidents, tradeoffs, and risk management using your expertise and customer obsession.
  5. Consult with a range of partners from developers to C-suite executives.
  6. Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services, and Sales Managers.
  7. Proactively identify opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS.
  8. Provide detailed reviews of service events, monthly & quarterly metrics, and prelaunch planning.
  9. Solve diverse problems as customers migrate workloads to the cloud.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 years of technical engineering experience.
  • Operational troubleshooting experience in compute, storage, networking, CDN, databases, DevOps, big data, analytics, security, or applications development within distributed systems.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud services.
  • Experience as a technical lead in enterprise or customer-facing environments.
  • UAE Citizen (Emirati).
