Job Description
The Construction Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction activities to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. This role involves focusing on daily site operations, workforce management, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring that all construction activities adhere to project specifications and local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement construction plans, schedules, and resource allocation to meet project objectives.
- Oversee daily site operations, ensuring construction work is carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with design specifications.
- Ensure proper resource allocation (materials, manpower, equipment).
- Plan and schedule project sections, ensuring work aligns with engineering/construction drawings, specifications, and contracts within the approved timeline.
- Monitor project budgets, control expenses, and recommend cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Check and approve all payment claims from subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and contractual compliance.
- Lead and supervise project site staff, including engineers, foremen, and laborers, ensuring clear communication and performance monitoring.
- Ensure all construction activities meet quality control standards and comply with Abu Dhabi's regulations, safety guidelines, and environmental policies.
- Act as the primary contact between clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and consultants at each project stage for technical compliance.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize delays and costs.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective measures.
- Prepare progress reports, document site activities, and maintain project records.
- Prepare method statements and constructability reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 12 years of construction project management experience in the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi's construction laws, permits, and safety regulations.
- PMP certification is a plus.
- Experience with Primavera P6, AutoCAD, etc., preferred.
- Valid UAE driving license preferred.
