Job description

General Accountant - Real Estate Division
We have been appointed a function from one of our clients, a deluxe furnishings business. They are looking for a General Accountant - Property Division to be based in Sharjah, UAE. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you should be able to perform all accounting functions up to completion, consolidation, and filing of quarterly VAT returns.

Responsibilities:
Various other responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  1. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination, and completion of annual audits, and analyzing financial reports/support as necessary.
  2. Analyze and report on financial condition including income statement variations, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis.
  3. Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective action.
  4. Accounts payable function.
  5. Manage taxes and comply with federal regulations.

Requirements:
To be considered for this job, you need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience managing the accounting tasks of a real estate or investment company.
  2. Strong knowledge in finalization, consolidation, and filing of quarterly VAT.
  3. Strong communication and presentation skills.
  4. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar degree; candidates holding a Master's in Business or CA, CPA, etc. qualifications are preferred.
  5. Proficient in English.

The working hours of the role will be from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM from Saturday to Thursday. As a benefit, you will be entitled to work alternate Saturdays with 6 days off in a month.
