Job description

Job Purpose

A first-of-its-kind training facility in Dubai, the Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA) is located in Dubai South, Dubai World Central (DWC). With its unique facilities and resources, Emirates Flight Training Academy offers the opportunity to learn to fly in the most advanced flight training academy in the world. Our fully operational flight operations centre is dedicated to Emirates Flight Training Academy cadets only, providing a comprehensive operational experience in a holistic environment.

In This Role, You Will
  1. Manage procurement for contract renewals and new contracts by assessing commercial risks, proposing mitigation plans, and participating in negotiations. Analyze price quotes, review commercial clauses, and maintain a monitored contract list for timely renewals.
  2. Facilitate and endorse new student training contracts, ensuring accurate fee details and payment structures. Communicate with students about payment procedures and work with the Training department to evaluate the impact of graduation delays on costs, implementing solutions as needed.
  3. Coordinate with department managers and Finance to ensure accurate billing, address billing queries, follow up on overdue payments, and monitor bad debts to mitigate financial risks.
  4. Provide commercial support and analysis for management decisions on projects and spending, collaborating with the FP&A team. Support shop sales, cashiering, banking, inventory management, and determine retail pricing.
  5. Ensure timely approval of service invoices, maintain strict adherence to controls, update business leads on invoice statuses, and engage with suppliers for resolution of queries.
  6. Collaborate with business leads to gather data for business cases on new capabilities and capital expenditure. Explore industry research to identify technologies or methods for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
  7. Maintain communication with the FP&A team to align finance processes with group policies, review and benchmark processes, and incorporate controls and reporting mechanisms.
  8. Compile and analyze monthly operational statistics, generate KPI dashboards, and collaborate with FP&A to finalize reports.
Qualifications & Experience

To qualify, candidates should have:

  • A Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).
  • 5+ years of experience in Finance & Insurance or Management Accounting.
  • A degree in Finance, Economics, or Business.
  • Experience in Commercial Analysis, Finance, and Management Accounting.
  • Expertise in commercial aspects of business development.
  • A strong understanding of contracts and experience interpreting contract clauses.
  • Experience in finance and cost analysis within a large multinational, preferably in the airline or MRO sector.
