The Research Director, ACER UAE is an internationally recognised expert in educational research responsible for leading and building the research program of ACER UAE. The key objective of this role is to build the reputation, research capacity and research activities of ACER UAE in the Middle East. The role also includes identifying project opportunities, supporting project bids and contributing to projects managed from other areas of ACER.

Responsibilities

• work in an open, transparent and cooperative way with the CEO, UAE and other staff of ACER UAE to identify research opportunities, secure research projects and build the research capacity of ACER UAE;
• provide regular updates to the CEO
• liaise and work closely with colleagues across the ACER group to ensure that research activities of ACER UAE are aligned with the larger strategic vision and coordinated with other ACER activities
• develop and manage stakeholder relationships.

Requirement

• Build on current knowledge to identify key educational stakeholders at all levels of education in all countries in the Middle East and all emirates within the United Arab Emirates;
• Stakeholders will include policy makers, development partners, educational foundations, multilateral agencies and funding bodies;
• Lead the development by ACER UAE staff of a strategy to build or expand relationships with all key stakeholders and desired objectives for each relationship to support ACER goals;
• Meet with key stakeholders and decision making bodies in Middle Eastern countries;
