JOB TITLE: COMPLETIONS SUPERVISOR
Key Responsibilities
This position will be a key member of the field team responsible for the start-up of onsite completion activities, ensuring operations are executed to plan in a safe, environmentally, and socially responsible manner. The successful candidate will have extensive unconventional oil and gas experience, specifically with multi-stage horizontal well completion, along with a solid understanding of worksite management. Working alongside other Drilling & Construction professionals, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to successfully execute appraisal objectives with a culture of continuous improvement. The ability to work well individually as well as part of a team, and to deliver results under pressure while maintaining a safe work site, are important qualities. Travel to our operations in UAE will be required on a rotational basis.
- Lead onsite completion operations team with safety as the priority.
- Promote a positive Safety First Culture throughout all onsite operations.
- Conduct start of shift meetings, daily observations, interventions, and mentoring.
- Understand, follow, and implement PADSB worksite management framework.
- Verify service company checklists are understood and used correctly; review of service's JSA and SOPs to ensure tasks are performed correctly.
- Assist where required to ensure procedures being used are relevant to the scope of work to be performed.
- Ensure onsite completion operations are effectively managed, establishing operational & safety priorities, coordinating the execution of the completion plan, evaluating progress and results, ensuring all activities onsite comply with regulatory and health and safety requirements, providing consultation and advice, and resolving escalated issues.
- Communicate with Completion Superintendent throughout the day to provide updates, feedback, and recommendations; document lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Understand Management of Change (MOC) and the importance of not proceeding outside the scope of the written program.
- Participate in change of scope or troubleshooting operations to ensure risk assessments are identified, discussed, and documented, ensuring operations are done safely.
- Maintain supervision of all operations, primarily by being outside of the onsite office as much as possible or coordinating with other onsite leaders when office work is required.
- Document with accurate data and costs through detailed daily reports in WellView.
- Ensure service companies are capturing data and daily field costs as requested.
- Organize and plan to ensure people and equipment are available as required throughout the campaign, including communication with camp, construction, drilling teams, and other outside support services.
Essential Qualifications And Skills
- 15-20 years of directly related industry experience in unconventional assets, with a minimum of 10 years of direct wellsite supervision experience. Total commitment to safety first attitude.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline is beneficial but not required based on related work experience.
- A thorough understanding of the complexity of completion operations and the many specialty services required to execute the program.
- The ability to think quickly, assess risks, troubleshoot, and problem-solve, contributing to the completion team in finding solutions or a path forward.
- Experience in unconventional resource development, including multistage fracturing operations, is considered an asset.
- International exposure with experience/understanding/respect of operational differences between geographical and political regions.
- Enthusiastic professional with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver's license with a clean abstract.
- Ability to travel to UAE on a 28/28-day rotational basis, excluding travel time.
