Job summary

A leading company in the Oil & Gas sector is seeking a Health & Safety professional to conduct risk assessments, develop OHS policies, and ensure compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering and relevant experience in QA management. This role offers a competitive salary and opportunities for immediate joining.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry, specifically QA Management.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA/ISO legislation and procedures.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (not mandatory).

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
  • Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation, policy & compliance law.
  • Support the development of OHS policies and programs
  • Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (Installation of gas pipeline, safety norms, etc.)
  • Initiate and organise OHS training of employees and executives
  • Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity.
  • Oversee / audit of Gas installations, maintenance, disposal of substances, etc.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
  • Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle workers compensation claims
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
  • QHSE Inspection and Auditing, and Provision of HSE support to plant and gas pipe installation.
  • To keep the company's Health & Safety policy up to date.
  • To monitor the implementation of the company's Health & Safety policy, drawing any concerns to the attention of the manager in charge.
  • To advise and assist with Regulatory Affairs and Quality, Health Safety, and HSE Standards within the company.
  • Ensure the operational Management team understands and acts by Regulatory issues.
  • Ensure documented and detailed training plans are in place for all team members.
  • Management of the control of all site-controlled documentation.
  • Write the site's Standard Operating Procedures and review, approve & control all departmental procedures.
  • Primary contact for client audits and quality issues & and incident report handling.
  • Manage and develop the Quality Management System and Health Safety Standards to ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Management of self-audit and Managing Audits, INTERNAL & EXTERNALS assessment program for continual improvement to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
  • Monitor and review operational quality, FSSC & HSE performance efficiency.
  • Build relationships with Managers/Supervisors and the workforce to enforce a Quality Policy & Health & Safety culture.
  • Audit internal & support external audit and approval of suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Engineering Mechanical, electrical/ petroleum / Quality Assurance Management. NEBOSH and OHSAS Certificates.
  • Certificate in occupational health and safety, safety management.
  • At least 1 - 3 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, gas installation, specifically QA Management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/ISO) and procedures. Auditing skills (internal and external) on Quality systems.
  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
  • Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety, and Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics, & Diligent with great attention to detail
  • Fluent in both Arabic and English - Not Mandatory.
  • UAE Driving Licences added advantage /preferred.
  • Salary: Depending on the candidate's experience.
