Job Purpose:
The employee in this position will undertake responsibility for maintaining the physical assets of the property, including new construction, refurbishment, maintenance, and repair of brick, cement, stone, cladding panels, glass, and plaster for buildings located at the depot, viaduct structures, internal roads, pavements, fences, barriers, or other station structures under the direction of the Snr. Civil Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete all maintenance service requests and work orders as assigned.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications.
- Inspect and interpret readings in real-time to identify areas of interest.
- Inspect depot and station buildings and other structures to determine system functionality, detect malfunctions, and recommend repairs using inspection check sheets and job tasks.
- Assist engineers in preparing technical and site inspection reports.
- Prepare and complete Planned Preventative Maintenance for station/depot structures, including housekeeping.
- Set up and calibrate all equipment, interpret, evaluate, and document results through formal reports.
- Follow and enforce company safety practices and procedures at all times.
- Monitor and supervise all civil works performed by outside contractors.
- Provide 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled.
- Carry cell phones as required for on-call maintenance.
- Monitor and maintain depot building systems, infrastructure such as roads, pavements, sidewalks, viaducts, track drainage, fences, barriers, and station structures.
- Alert the Snr. Civil Engineer of any unusual occurrences or damages.
- Ensure compliance with safety practices, local codes, regulations, and requirements.
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner with Dubai Tram staff, vendors, contractors, and colleagues.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of arithmetic and algebra.
- A sense of urgency, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Knowledge of masonry, plastering, carpentry, excavation, and backfilling practices and tools.
- Understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, understanding).
- Ability to assess material quality.
- Ability to rig and work from scaffolds.
- Experience with CAFM systems.
- Excellent skills in Word and Excel for reporting.
- Knowledge of local suppliers market.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Other Requirements:
- Five years of experience in facilities management or similar roles.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
