A Day in the Life
The Health Access and Global Account Lead is responsible for ensuring that particularly underserved and vulnerable populations, have access to necessary healthcare therapies and technology. This position involves mapping and coordinating funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships to improve health access, reduce disparities, and support of health programs in alignment with market and Medtronic strategy therapy priorities. The role requires working with funding institutions and organizations along with healthcare providers and stakeholders to address gaps in healthcare access.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Health Access Coordination:

  • Identify and analyze barriers to healthcare access within specific populations, including underserved communities, low-income groups and rural areas.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve healthcare access and reduce disparities in the community to the key therapies and technologies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, community leaders, and advocacy groups to address and support initiatives aimed at improving health access.

Funding and Grants Management:

  • Identify, research, and apply for relevant funding opportunities, including government grants, corporate sponsorships, and philanthropic donations
  • Maintain strong relationships with donors, grant entities, and funding partners to address sustainable funding for health access programs
  • Highlight to all relevant stakeholders the opportunities of Medtronic therapies and portfolio to serve top priority needs
  • Monitor local, state, and country health policies and report on developments that may impact access to healthcare services or funding.

Program Evaluation and Reporting:

  • Monitor the progress of health access programs, collect, analyze, and report on data related to health access and program outcomes
  • Prepare regular reports on health access initiatives, funding, and program performance for stakeholders and management.

Internal Stakeholders:

  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders: strategic marketing, market access, governmental affair and regional leaders on available funding programs across major geographies of the EurAsia (Emerging EMEA and Asia) region
  • Organize workshops to raise awareness of healthcare resources and existing market funding opportunities.

Collaboration and Networking:

  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare organizations, social service agencies, and community organizations to improve care coordination and expand access to health services
  • Serve as a liaison between healthcare providers, community groups, and government agencies to address gaps in care from therapy and medical device technology perspective.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in public health, healthcare administration, social work, or a related field. A master's degree may be preferred
  • Experience: At least 8-10 years of experience in public health, health access, or nonprofit management, including funding coordination
  • Strong understanding of healthcare systems, funding structures, and community health needs
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience preparing reports
  • Knowledge of health policy and advocacy processes
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in collaborative, team-oriented environments.
