Job Summary

The Strategic Food Reserve Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analysing, and advising on national and regional food reserves. This role involves assessing food supply chain risks, developing inventory strategies, and supporting policy decisions that ensure food availability during emergencies or market disruptions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Monitor global and local food market trends to assess potential threats to food security.
  2. Analyze reserve levels and forecast supply/demand dynamics under various scenarios (e.g., climate shocks, geopolitical crises).
  3. Develop and maintain models for optimal stockpile levels, turnover, and replenishment.
  4. Support policy formulation for procurement, storage, distribution, and release of strategic food reserves.
  5. Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and finance teams to ensure efficient supply chain operations.
  6. Conduct risk assessments and provide early warning insights for food supply disruptions.
  7. Prepare and present detailed reports to internal stakeholders, government agencies, or international partners.
  8. Participate in the development of national food security strategies and contingency plans.
  9. Ensure data integrity and accuracy of inventory and forecasting systems.
