Job description

Hill International is looking for a Commercial Manager with Cost Control experience in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in developing initial high-level budget s-curves to provide a baseline against which project expenditure will be measured throughout the year.
  2. Update, review, and submit the Cost Trackers by the agreed due date.
  3. Review Award Recommendation Reports, Variation orders, and PCRs to ensure a clear understanding of the budgeted amount of each commitment and its cost impact reflected in the Cost Trackers.
  4. Execute Cost Controls day-to-day tasks and provide periodic reports on budget reconciliation, variances, forecast cash flow, and budget summaries for PCRs and early warnings.
  5. Provide accurate cost advice and reporting.
  6. Assist in managing all downstream entities related to cost.
  7. Review and confirm cash flow forecasts.
  8. Coordinate monthly accruals with site consultants and relevant departments.
  9. Review and approve consultants' monthly interim payment applications.
  10. Analyze project data efficiently.
  11. Set objectives and priorities proactively, working as a team player.
  12. Maintain effective communication to ensure all project information is available, liaising with other managers for efficient financial control.
  13. Deliver work outputs accurately and on time.
  14. Support project leaders in cost management.
  15. Represent the company professionally, meeting, negotiating, and building relationships with external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  1. A minimum of twelve years of technical delivery experience within a global consultancy firm.
  2. Pre- and post-contract experience.
  3. Experience in the Middle East.
  4. Strong technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills.
  5. Well-organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, disciplined, and commercially astute.
  6. A team player with a can-do attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible.
