The scope of work

• Oversee and review contracts related to solar PV module sales in the Middle East and GCC countries, and deliver legal support for other sales-matters as needed.
• We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team, supporting solar PV module sales across the Middle East. This role is pivotal in ensuring contractual integrity, managing legal risks, and supporting the business in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment. The ideal candidate will have a background in commercial contract law, preferably with experience in the renewable energy sector, and be adept at providing pragmatic legal solutions in an international setting.

Major responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts related to solar PV module sales, including supply agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and memoranda of understanding.
• Advise the sales team on contract terms, risk allocation, and compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
• Develop and deliver training sessions for the sales team on legal risks, contract management, and risk awareness.
• Manage and coordinate legal disputes, including litigation and arbitration, in collaboration with external counsel as necessary.
• Advise on regulatory and compliance matters for solar PV sales in the Middle East and GCC countries, staying updated on relevant legal developments in the region.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of compliance programs.
• Assist with subsidiary management, corporate governance, and other legal matters.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or equivalent); admission to practice law in the UK or other common law jurisdictions is preferred but not required.
• 3+ years of post-qualification experience in commercial contract law, preferably in the renewable energy or related sectors.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken); proficiency in Mandarin or Arabic is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills with a proven ability to deliver results under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
• High ethical standards and a proactive, business-oriented approach to legal problem-solving.
