Foreman

• Distributes the manpower based on the site engineer instruction
• Control and monitor the materials and tools received from the project store
• Coordinates with other activities in the project.
• Control and monitor project execution team for the right productivity
• Plans the requirements of material and communicate to the Site Engineer.
• Ensures the quality of workmanship
• Ensures the control for less material waste and the skilled/semi-skilled time waste
• Ensures the follow up of all HSE rules and measures
• Control & monitor the work progress at site as per project time frame.
• Handles the Testing & Commissioning of the project systems.

Requirements

• Diploma in either Mechanical or Electrical
• Minimum of 6 – 10 years of relevant experience
• Language – English
• Communication skills

Supervision of Workers:

• Managing Team Members: The foreman supervises the work of laborers, tradespeople, and other workers on-site, ensuring that everyone is following the work plan, adhering to safety guidelines, and performing their tasks efficiently.
• Task Assignment: Assigning specific tasks to workers based on their skills and experience. They ensure the correct number of workers are allocated to each task, and work is performed according to priorities.
• Motivating and Supporting the Team: Providing leadership and motivation to the workforce, resolving any issues that arise, and ensuring that the team works well together.

Project Execution and Monitoring:

• Overseeing Work Progress: The foreman ensures that the project is progressing according to schedule, checking the quality of work being done, and making adjustments as needed to meet deadlines.
• Quality Control: Ensuring that the work being done meets quality standards and project specifications. This may involve performing inspections, checking work accuracy, and ensuring the work is completed to the required standards.
• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Addressing any issues that arise during the work process, such as delays, equipment malfunctions, or work errors, and finding solutions to keep the project on track.

Health and Safety Compliance:

• Ensuring Safety Standards: The foreman plays a crucial role in ensuring that safety regulations are followed on-site. This includes enforcing the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), conducting safety briefings, and overseeing the correct handling of tools and machinery.
• Conducting Safety Inspections: Performing routine safety inspections of the worksite, identifying potential hazards, and implementing corrective actions as necessary to prevent accidents.
• Emergency Preparedness: Ensuring that all workers know the safety protocols in case of an emergency and that safety equipment is readily available and functional.

Resource Management:

• Material and Equipment Management: The foreman ensures that the necessary materials, tools, and equipment are available and properly maintained for the team to complete their tasks.
• Monitoring Resource Use: Tracking the use of materials and tools, making sure that resources are used efficiently and in line with the project plan.
• Inventory Control: Coordinating with procurement or other departments to ensure that supplies and equipment are delivered on time and in the correct quantities.

Communication and Reporting:

• Liaising with Supervisors and Managers: The foreman communicates regularly with project managers, site managers, or construction managers to provide updates on the project's progress, address issues, and report any delays or concerns.
• Reporting on Work Progress: Maintaining detailed records of work performed, any issues encountered, hours worked, and materials used, and reporting this information to the management team.
• Interacting with Clients and Stakeholders: Depending on the industry, the foreman may also need to interact with clients, customers, or other stakeholders to provide updates or clarify project details.

Training and Development:

• Training New Workers: The foreman often plays a role in training new workers or less experienced staff. They ensure that all workers understand the tasks they are assigned, the safety protocols, and how to use the equipment properly.
• Skill Development: Helping workers develop their skills on the job, providing feedback, and mentoring team members to improve performance.
