Job Title:

MEP Technician

Department:

Job Purpose:

The MEP Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of MEP systems in MBZUAI. The role involves conducting routine inspections, performing preventive and corrective maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and repair HVAC systems, including air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, VRF, FCU & Package Units.
  2. Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, such as pumps, motors, and compressors.
  3. Perform electrical maintenance on lighting, power distribution systems, control panels, and LV panels.
  4. Inspect, test, and repair electrical components, wiring, and circuits to prevent system failures.
  5. Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and sanitary fittings.
  6. Inspect and fix leaks, pipe blockages, pumps, valves, and Calorifiers.
  7. Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance as per Job cards.
  8. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
  9. Keep accurate maintenance records, reports, and logs.
  10. Collaborate with other technicians and facility management teams to address maintenance needs.
Qualifications:

Diploma or ITI certification in Mechanical or Electrical field.

Experience:

Minimum 2-5 years of experience in MEP maintenance. Immediate joiners will be preferred.

Other Requirements:
  • Work may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, heights, confined spaces, noisy environments, and asset shifting work.
  • Requires physical stamina for lifting, climbing, and manual work.
  • May include shifting work, weekends, and emergency callouts.
  • 24/7 rotational shifts with 12-hour duties, 6 days a week.
