Our client is a leading infrastructure developer and asset owner in Saudi Arabia. They are a lead developer in social infrastructure, such as schools, healthcare facilities, public transportation, road infrastructureandhousing.

Position Overview

Our Client is seeking a highly skilled Financial Modeller to join its Project Finance team. This role is primarily focused on financial modelling, requiring exceptional problem-solving abilities, structured thinking, and a strong mathematical foundation. The successful candidate will play a critical role in building, optimizing, and maintaining financial models, ensuring their accuracy, robustness, and adherence to best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Modelling & Analysis

  • Develop, refine, and maintain advanced financial models for infrastructure and PPP projects.
  • Apply mathematical and algebraic problem-solving to enhance model efficiency and accuracy.
  • Automate and streamline model functionality to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Conduct sensitivity and scenario analysis, assessing financial impact under different assumptions.
  • Ensure all models adhere to recognized financial modelling standards (preferably FAST standard).

Data Interpretation & Presentation-

  • Translate complex financial outputs into clear, insightful presentations and reports.
  • Structure and present findings in a visually compelling and logical manner.

Accuracy & Risk Mitigation

  • Apply rigorous self-checking procedures to identify and correct errors before external reviews.
  • Stress-test models to ensure robustness under different scenarios.
  • Implement best practices to minimize errors and streamline the review process.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support

  • Work closely with project finance team members to integrate financial models into broader transaction workstreams.
  • Extract and apply relevant financial assumptions from legal, technical, and commercial documents.

Financial Concepts & Industry Knowledge

  • Apply a strong foundation in corporate finance principles, including:
  • Three financial statements and their interplay.
  • Time value of money, NPV, IRR, and return metrics.
  • Basic accounting principles.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of PPP and project finance concepts, such as payment mechanisms, leverage, DSCR, and DSRA.

Requirements-

Experience & Background

  • 2-4 years of experience in financial modelling and investment analysis.
  • Strong background in Excel-based financial modelling, preferably in infrastructure, power, utilities, or PPP sectors.

Technical Skills

  • Expert proficiency in Excel and VBA, with the ability to solve complex problems efficiently.
  • Strong algebraic and mathematical skills, applying structured formulas and equations to financial challenges.
  • Experience adhering to recognized financial modelling standards (FAST standard preferred).
