Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai is looking for a Duty Technician to join our Engineering team.

About The Job

Based at Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Engineering Department, the Duty Technician will assist in managing shift operations. Responsible for maintaining all equipment in good repair with minimal downtime, the technician will perform daily maintenance tasks across various systems and complete work orders promptly following hotel procedures. The Duty Technician reports to the Duty Supervisor.

Responsibilities include:

• Carrying out daily maintenance in guest rooms and public areas, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Responding promptly to maintenance calls from guests and departments, completing work orders efficiently.
• Diagnosing issues, prioritizing urgent breakdowns, and implementing solutions independently when necessary.
• Maintaining tools, equipment, and safety gear, ensuring a safe work environment.
• Addressing guest complaints and requests courteously and efficiently.
• Being on standby for emergencies, understanding blueprints and manuals, and acting swiftly to safeguard people and property.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 2-5 years of technical experience, with 1-3 years in a luxury hotel preferred.
• Formal qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Hands-on experience in hotel maintenance.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
