Duty Engineer at InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa

Hotel: Ras Al Khaimah Resort and Spa (RKTHA), Al Rafaa, Mina Al Arab

Our guests’ safety and comfort always come first. Which is why we’re seeking out a master multi-tasker with the repair skills needed to keep our hotels looking and feeling their very best. Our new Duty Engineer will lead and coach a small but talented engineering team to stay one step ahead of our everyday maintenance needs.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  • Monitor and maintain the hotel’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems during assigned shifts
  • Respond promptly to guest room and facility maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption to the guest experience
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as scheduled, ensuring high standards of safety and functionality
  • Carry out routine inspections of equipment, public areas, and back-of-house facilities, addressing any issues proactively
  • Coordinate and oversee emergency repairs or incidents, reporting immediately to the Engineering Manager
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, completed work orders, and equipment performance
  • Support energy-saving initiatives by identifying and reporting inefficient systems or practices
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, hotel brand standards, and local codes
  • Supervise and guide general maintenance staff or technicians during shift, if applicable
  • Be available for emergency callouts and participate in the hotel’s fire safety and emergency response programs
What We need from you:

  • Diploma or certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
  • Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on maintenance or engineering experience in a luxury hotel
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire safety equipment
  • Familiar with Building Management Systems (BMS) and preventive maintenance software
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative during assigned shifts
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Computer skills for logging maintenance requests and reports
  • Knowledge of UAE safety codes and hotel industry standards
  • Flexible to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays
