Job summary

Vanderlande is seeking a Site Engineer – Steel Structure for Dubai, UAE. The role involves supporting the Site Manager in mechanical installation, commissioning and maintenance on multiple projects across the region.

You will guide sub-contractors, coordinate with construction and procurement, and supervise steel works installation at the site. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, has at least 5 years in steel structures within industrial automation, and is

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in steel structure practices in industrial automation, especially baggage handling or material handling systems.
• Willing to work on projects outside the UAE and KSA.
• Strong knowledge of engineering analysis tools and mechanical design and installation practices.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders in diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager in mechanical installation, commissioning and maintenance of equipment across projects.
• Guide and educate sub-contractors with installation best practices.
• Coordinate with construction and procurement to identify tools and consumables for site execution.
• Supervise installation of steel works and prepare work packages for site teams.
• Support proposals with input from lessons learned and project experiences.
• Monitor and report site progress and assist quality with inspections and handover activities.
• Identify risks and implement preventive actions with Engineering and Drafting teams.
