Job summary

Astra ProMed in Dubai seeks an experienced Specialist Pulmonologist to diagnose and manage respiratory conditions, perform specialized tests, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

The role requires a medical degree with postgraduate qualification in Pulmonology and DHA eligibility; the successful candidate will contribute to education, quality improvement and evidence-based practice within a leading healthcare facility.

Qualifications

• Medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Pulmonology, Respiratory Medicine, or a relevant specialty.
• Valid DHA eligibility or license, or eligibility to obtain one.
• Relevant post-specialization clinical experience at Specialist level.
• Strong knowledge of pulmonary medicine and current respiratory treatment protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, and sleep-related breathing disorders.
• Evaluate patients with complex pulmonary and respiratory conditions.
• Perform and interpret pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopy, and other relevant diagnostic procedures, where qualified.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient response.
• Manage respiratory emergencies and coordinate care with emergency and critical care teams.
• Provide follow-up care, patient education, and preventive respiratory health guidance.
• Collaborate with radiologists, thoracic surgeons, intensivists, and other specialists.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with clinical protocols.
• Contribute to clinical education, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
