Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for post‑contract costs in Dubai, UAE. You will manage commercial activities after contract award, supporting residential, commercial, and hospitality projects with valuations, variations, and final accounts.

Ideal candidates have 4–5 years of post‑graduate experience and familiarity with Middle East projects, cost reporting, and funder advisory work. Chartered status is preferred and onboarding is in‑person at a Dubai office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or another construction‑related field.
• Four to five years of post‑graduate quantity surveying or cost management experience.
• Two to three years of professional experience within the Middle East.
• Experience supporting residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed‑use developments.
• Practical knowledge of variations, interim valuations, payment certification, cost reporting, and final accounts.
• Chartered RICS membership is preferred.
• Candidates progressing through the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence may also be considered.
• Ability to interpret contracts, drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities.
• Strong numerical accuracy and commercial judgment.
• Clear written communication and professional report preparation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments while meeting defined deadlines.
• Strong attention to quality, procedure, and document control.
• Confidence working within multidisciplinary project and consultancy teams.
• Availability to attend in‑person Day1 onboarding at an AECOM office.

Responsibilities

• Support post‑contract cost consultancy services from project commencement through final account settlement.
• Assist with the measurement and valuation of completed construction works.
• Review variation submissions and help assess entitlement, quantities, rates, and commercial impact.
• Prepare supporting documentation for interim payment assessments and payment certificates.
• Assist senior quantity surveyors with the evaluation and agreement of final accounts.
• Maintain registers for variations, payments, claims, commitments, and forecast costs.
• Contribute to monthly cost reports, cash flow updates, and commercial status summaries.
• Review drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, contracts, and other project documentation.
• Gather cost data for benchmarking and internal commercial reporting.
• Help produce monitoring reports and other deliverables for funder advisory services.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors, and client representatives to obtain accurate cost information.
• Follow established quality control procedures and verify that required internal checks are completed.
• Identify inconsistencies in commercial submissions and escalate material concerns to senior team members.
• Attend progress and cost meetings and record actions relevant to commercial management.
• Support the preparation of clear, evidence‑based recommendations for client review.
