Job summary

Avanta Works in Dubai, UAE is seeking a Part-Time Librarian (Indian Nationals) to manage our library collection and assist patrons with research. This role requires English fluency and at least 1 year of library experience.

You will catalog, shelve, and organize materials, help users locate resources, and promote services through displays and events. The position is 20 hours per week with flexible hours and commensurate salary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a library setting.
• Fluency in English; Arabic knowledge is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day library operations including cataloging, shelving and inventory.
• Assist patrons with locating materials and using library databases for research.
• Promote resources and services through displays, outreach, or events.
• Monitor budget and recommend new purchases or subscriptions.
• Train new staff on procedures and systems.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop partnerships or programs.
• Stay updated on librarianship trends through professional development.
