Qualifications

• Minimum one year school-based counseling experience or relevant student support experience.
• Strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence.

• Commitment to continuous professional growth.
• Valid enhanced DBS or equivalent police clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a comprehensive school counseling programme.
• Provide individual and group counseling addressing academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Support student transitions and promote positive adjustment within the school environment.
• Develop proactive anti-bullying guidelines and student wellbeing initiatives.
• Maintain detailed and confidential student records tracking progress and achievements.
• Establish systems for parent communication regarding academic or behavioral concerns.
• Coordinate with external professionals when additional student support is required.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to promote holistic development programmes.
• Administer appropriate aptitude and achievement assessments.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and GEMS standards.
• Participate in staff meetings, committees, and additional school responsibilities.
