Job summary

First Orion is hiring a Software Engineer in Dubai with 5+ years of Java and Spring Boot experience to design, build, and maintain scalable applications. You will develop REST APIs, microservices, and secure solutions, deploying in AWS and collaborating with frontend teams.

The role focuses on backend services, cloud technologies, databases, and integration work across platforms, with a strong emphasis on security and scalable delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot REST API and microservices development.
• Experience designing and integrating APIs.
• Good knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL / MySQL.
• Experience with AWS services.
• Familiarity with Docker, containers, and CI/CD.
• Good understanding of application security, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience with Git-based development workflows.
• Basic to good understanding of frontend technologies such as JavaScript / TypeScript / React / Angular.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and support REST APIs and microservices that power internal and customer-facing applications.
• Design, integrate, and maintain APIs across multiple systems and platforms.
• Develop and optimize database solutions using PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases.
• Build, deploy, and support applications running in AWS environments.
• Work with Docker and containerized applications to support scalable deployments.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes.
• Implement secure application designs, including authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to support integrations with web applications and user interfaces.
• Participate in code reviews and follow Git-based development workflows.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across applications and environments.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality software solutions.
