First Orion Corp is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to design, build, and own core microservices supporting call treatment orchestration, brand data, analytics, and billing. You will work in a hexagonal, event-driven architecture with Java/Spring Boot and collaborate with engineering teams across regions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend or software engineering experience.
• Experience with Java 21 and Spring Boot.
• Gradle with Kotlin DSL experience.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL experience.
• Experience with Redis and Kafka.
• Understanding of microservice and event-driven architectures.
• Ability to collaborate across distributed teams.
• Experience designing, building, testing, and supporting production services.

Responsibilities

• Build, enhance, and own core microservices across the First Orion platform
• Develop services supporting call treatment orchestration, brand data, analytics, and billing
• Design and implement solutions using hexagonal and event-driven architecture patterns
• Build scalable, reliable backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Work with relational databases, caching technologies, and event-streaming platforms
• Contribute to technical design decisions and help improve the reliability and maintainability of services
• Troubleshoot issues and support services throughout the development lifecycle
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions
