Job summary

World Bank Group in Dubai is seeking a Senior Communications and External Affairs Officer to lead regional stakeholder engagement and strategic communications. The role requires advising regional management, shaping narratives, and managing reputational risk across CER's business lines.

You will collaborate with IBRD, IDA, IFC, and MIGA teams to drive a One World Bank Group approach. The position emphasizes senior advisory responsibilities, complex delivery, and the ability to mobilize support

Qualifications

Masters degree with at least 8 years of relevant professional experience in communications, journalism, public affairs, or international affairs.
Experience in an international environment with knowledge of global development issues.
Proven ability to provide strategic advice to senior management in politically sensitive situations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead stakeholder engagement strategies that advance World Bank Group priorities and strengthen regional influence.
Build relationships with government officials, development partners, private sector leaders, civil society, media and academia.
Advise management on stakeholder dynamics, political economy and engagement approaches.
Ensure stakeholder insights shape communications, advocacy, risk management and decision making.
Coordinate risk assessments, issue management and reputational risk responses for complex operations.
