Dubai-Based External Supply Planning Manager

Job summary

Safran Seats is expanding its industrial footprint in the Middle East and seeks an External Supply Planning Manager to lead the planning of externally supplied components, ensuring uninterrupted production through strong supplier management and ERP alignment.

The role oversees a team of about five, coordinates with the Purchasing organisation, and drives procurement KPIs and continuous improvement for the regional plant in Dubai, UAE.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in procurement planning and supplier management.
• Strong technical expertise with ERP/MRP systems, supplier portals, and supply chain analytics.
• Knowledge of inventory planning methods, demand and supply analysis, and risk mitigation.
• Experience in supplier relationship and performance management, including escalation and recovery plans.
• Lean practices knowledge; greenbelt is a plus.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and analytical/management software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to coach and lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Leading daily and weekly procurement activities aligned with ERP-driven production schedules.
• Ensuring timely placement, maintenance, and follow-up of purchase orders to internal and external suppliers.
• Managing supplier priorities, shortage routines, and orderbook performance.
• Providing supply chain input for strategic sourcing and supplier selection decisions.
• Monitoring supplier capacity against rolling forecasts and coordinating with international teams.
• Maintaining critical supplier risk registers and mitigation plans.
• Ensuring procurement processes are documented and compliant with internal standards, driving digital improvement.
• Tracking procurement KPIs and on-time delivery metrics.
• Coaching, developing, and supporting a team of around five.
