Job summary

Platinum by DG Events LLC in Dubai invites an experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The role covers month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance for UAE operations. Work on ERPNext/QuickBooks, liaise with auditors, and support procurement and payroll processes.

Candidates should have 3–5 years UAE accounting experience, IFRS knowledge, and ACCA/CPA preferred; excellent Excel skills and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CMA, or CPA is preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, including UAE experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and FTA regulations.
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit coordination.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks, ERPNext, Zoho Books, or similar systems.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in the event management industry will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
• Prepare financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reports.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and adjustments.
• Maintain the general ledger and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, collections, supplier payments, and reconciliations.
• Review and verify utility bills, including electricity, water, telecommunications, internet, and other recurring expenses, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
• Prepare cash-flow forecasts and monitor the company’s working-capital requirements.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets and conduct budget variance analysis.
• Perform bank, petty cash, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare and file UAE VAT and Corporate Tax returns in accordance with FTA requirements.
• Prepare MIS reports, financial dashboards, budgets, and forecasts.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide audit schedules and supporting documents.
• Maintain the fixed-asset register and calculate depreciation.
• Monitor inventory records and coordinate periodic physical inventory counts.
• Process payroll, employee reimbursements, and expense claims.
• Support procurement activities, including supplier quotations, purchase requests, and commercial negotiations.
