Overview
As a Drone Pilot, you will operate drones across a wide range of technical and creative applications. Your role includes conducting drone missions for engineering purposes (mapping, surveying, inspections, and 3D modelling) as well as media projects (promotional shoots, creative content, and cinematic visuals). You will work with both technical and creative teams to support project objectives, from flight planning to data handling.
Responsibilities
- Operate drones for various engineering operations, including aerial surveying, mapping, photogrammetry, 3D modelling, volumetric analysis, and site inspections.
- Conduct drone flights for media-related activities such as promotional videos, advertisements, event coverage, and cinematic productions.
- Collaborate with engineers, creatives, and project managers to plan and execute drone missions based on technical requirements and creative direction.
- Edit and enhance video footage using professional post-production tools.
- Follow mission-specific checklists and ensure compliance with aviation safety standards and local regulatory requirements (including obtaining necessary permits).
- Maintain and calibrate all drone equipment and ensure firmware and flight logs are up to date.
- Archive drone data and media systematically for future use and reporting.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in drone operations across technical and / or media fields.
- Knowledge of drone flight safety, camera settings, and shooting techniques.
- Skilled in pre-flight planning, risk assessment, and flight logging.
- Familiarity with UAV workflows in GIS, construction, and inspection environments is a plus.
- Ability to handle DSLR cameras, gimbals, and related media gear is a plus.
- Proficiency in post-processing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve for media work.
- Strong understanding of camera settings, shooting techniques, and image quality control.
- Skilled in pre-production planning, storyboarding, and shot design.
- Strong creativity and visual storytelling skills.
- Able to work in a structured, self-managed way with strong problem-solving skills.
- Good organisational habits and attention to technical and visual detail.
