Job summary

DSV is seeking a Heavy Duty Driver to operate company vehicles in the UAE, ensuring safe and timely deliveries to customers according to schedule.

You will maintain vehicles, report issues, and help optimize daily routes while upholding HSE standards and road safety at all times. Prior experience and a valid UAE license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Matriculation or equivalent education required.
• Minimum 2 years driving experience in UAE or GCC.
• Valid UAE driving license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicles in compliance with traffic rules to ensure safe transportation.
• Ensure vehicle is maintained and report complaints to supervisor/workshop.
• Prioritize deliveries and suggest route plan improvements.
• Report damages or shortages during delivery.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and raise non-conformances as needed.
• Complete trip sheets and hand over to supervisor after each shift.
• Submit delivery notes to OCC within 24 hours of delivery.
• Comply with HSE requirements.
• Supervise distribution assistants and report misconduct.
• Observe traffic regulations and avoid penalties/fines.

Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is to drive the company vehicles in compliance with the traffic rules to ensure safe transportation, pickup, and accurate delivery of goods/items to the customers as per their schedule.

1. Ensuring vehicle is maintained properly and complaints, if any, are reported immediately to the supervisor and the workshop team.
2. Prioritizing deliveries and suggesting improvements to the daily route plans.
3. Reporting damages, excess / shortages if any, during delivery.
4. Handling customer complaints in a pleasant and non-confrontational manner and in the agreed method and raise non-conformances where necessary.
5. Completing the trip sheets with all relevant information and handing it over to the supervisor towards the end of every shift.
6. Submitting delivery notes to OCC within 24 hours on delivery.
7. Complying with the HSE requirements.
8. Supervising the distribution assistants and reporting any misconduct to the supervisor immediately.
9. Ensuring that the traffic regulations are strictly always observed while driving on the road and all penalties and fines on account of violation are avoided.
10. Performing any other related duties / projects assigned by the direct supervisor from time to time to meet the business exigencies.

Qualifications & Characteristics

Education:

Matriculation or Equivalent

Work Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of driving experience in the UAE or any GCC country.
• Valid driving license relevant to the vehicle category is preferred.
• Good knowledge of UAE/GCC road regulations and safety standards.
