Role Description A Transport Driver / Delivery Driver is responsible for safely transporting and delivering goods, products, materials, equipment, documents, and other items to customers, branches, warehouses, project sites, and designated locations. The role ensures timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining vehicle safety, proper handling of goods, delivery documentation, customer service, and compliance with applicable traffic and transportation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport and deliver goods, products, materials, equipment, and other assigned items.
• Collect goods from warehouses, suppliers, distribution centers, branches, customers, or designated pickup locations.
• Deliver orders accurately and on time according to assigned delivery schedules and routes.
• Plan and follow efficient delivery routes while considering traffic conditions, road restrictions, weather, and delivery priorities.
• Use GPS, navigation applications, route-planning systems, and delivery-management tools effectively.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are safe, roadworthy, clean, and properly maintained.
• Check tires, brakes, lights, fluids, fuel, safety equipment, loading areas, and other essential vehicle components.
• Report vehicle defects, maintenance issues, accidents, breakdowns, or safety concerns promptly.
• Coordinate vehicle servicing, inspections, repairs, registration, insurance, and routine maintenance where required.
• Load, unload, secure, and transport goods safely in accordance with company procedures and product-handling requirements.
• Verify quantities, product descriptions, packaging, delivery addresses, and order details before departure.
• Check delivery notes, invoices, packing lists, purchase orders, manifests, and other transportation documents.
• Obtain customer signatures, delivery confirmations, proof of delivery (POD), electronic confirmations, or other required documentation.
• Handle goods carefully to prevent damage, loss, contamination, or incorrect delivery.
• Report damaged, missing, incorrect or rejected goods and coordinate corrective action with the relevant department.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, mileage, fuel consumption, vehicle usage, expenses, and completed routes.
• Communicate with customers regarding estimated arrival times, delivery instructions, delays, and special requirements.
• Provide professional, courteous, and customer-focused service during deliveries and collections.
• Coordinate with dispatchers, warehouse teams, logistics coordinators, procurement teams, customer-service teams, and management.
• Follow assigned delivery schedules and prioritize urgent, time-sensitive, or high-priority deliveries appropriately.
• Assist with loading and unloading activities while following safe lifting and manual-handling procedures.
• Ensure goods are properly secured during transportation to prevent movement, damage, or loss.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and professional presentation of the assigned vehicle.
• Follow all applicable UAE traffic laws, transportation regulations, road-safety requirements, and company driving policies.
• Practice defensive driving and maintain safe driving behavior at all times.
• Maintain appropriate vehicle speed, following distance, parking practices, and driving discipline.
• Ensure all required driving licenses, permits, vehicle documents, insurance documents, and certifications remain valid.
• Follow company procedures for fuel usage, tolls, parking, vehicle security, and transportation expenses.
• Safeguard company vehicles, cargo, documents, equipment, and customer property during transportation.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer information, delivery details, company information, shipment contents, and commercial documents.
• Report accidents, traffic violations, security incidents, theft, lost items, or other transportation-related incidents according to company procedures.
• Assist with return deliveries, rejected shipments, product exchanges, reverse logistics, and collection activities where required.
• Monitor delivery performance, route efficiency, fuel consumption, and vehicle utilization.
• Support inventory and logistics teams by confirming delivered quantities and reporting discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate delivery schedules, route records, trip sheets, and transportation documentation.
• Adapt to changing delivery schedules, urgent requests, traffic conditions, route changes, and operational requirements.
• Work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays, or overtime where required.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery punctuality, route efficiency, vehicle utilization, customer service, fuel efficiency, cargo safety, and transportation performance.

Qualifications

• Valid UAE driving license appropriate for the assigned vehicle category is required.
• Previous experience as a Transport Driver, Delivery Driver, Logistics Driver, Commercial Driver, Van Driver, or similar position is preferred.
• Experience in logistics, transportation, distribution, courier, warehouse, retail, FMCG, construction, or delivery operations is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of UAE roads, highways, industrial areas, commercial districts, residential areas, warehouses, and major delivery destinations.
• Strong understanding of UAE traffic laws, road-safety requirements, and defensive-driving practices.
• Excellent driving skills with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, vehicle care, and responsible driving.
• Good knowledge of GPS, navigation applications, route-planning systems, and delivery-management platforms.
• Strong organizational, time-management, route-planning, and coordination skills.
