A leading construction firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced drilling operator to manage offshore drilling operations. The role involves overseeing drilling equipment, maintaining rock bits, and reporting mechanical failures. Candidates should have 8-10 years of construction drilling experience and strong communication skills. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals in the construction sector.
Reporting to Drilling Foreman or Barge Superintendent. Responsible for drilling and under reaming pile sockets for various offshore operations - jackets, trestle piles ‘SBMS’, breasting dolphins, mooring and anchor piles, etc.
In addition, responsible for the operation of various drilling units - Wirth (pile top units) and Bowen, as well as the repair and maintenance of these machines. Any mechanical failures should be notified to PMV or the concerned department with proper follow-up.
In charge of maintaining the rock bits regarding their availability. Repair as and when required and keep them in good condition.
Responsible for reporting any malfunction or mechanical failures of the drilling tools to the Plant office and ensure that they are fully tested and operational at all times. Checking the drilling-related parts with the main stores regularly and advising on stock levels to NOD / Plant. He should maintain the NPCC Drilling Manual by updating it with the latest information and with a list of inventory.
