Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a senior engineer to conduct research on dredging performance, develop digital tools, and advance production methods at our Abu Dhabi site.

You will work with stakeholders, design digital twins, and ensure safety and quality while applying MATLAB, Python, and CFD tools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in dredging or related engineering; or a related Bachelor's with relevant experience.
• Minimum 5–8 years in marine construction or dredging.
• Knowledge of dredging technologies and industry trends.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to plan, deliver against deadlines, and work in a team.
• Willingness to learn new tools and software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on dredging equipment performance and soil interaction.

• Conduct research and technical studies on dredging equipment performance, soil interaction, and production methodologies.
• Drive technical advancements in dredging processes and equipment, focusing on improving efficiency, performance, and overall operational effectiveness
• Design and maintain digital tools to support production estimation, monitoring, and reporting (e.g., spreadsheets, scripts, dashboards).
• Support the integration of real-time dredger data and production logs into centralized systems.
• Assist in automating calculations, data processing, and report generation workflows.
• Design and implement rigorous testing protocols to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of dredging products and processes
• Assist the Dredging Development Manager in aligning development efforts with department priorities.
• Conduct experiments and analyze results to drive continuous improvements and support innovative solutions
• Develop and utilize digital twin models to simulate, optimize, and predict dredging operations, enhancing operational strategies and identifying potential issues
• Identify and implement opportunities to optimize dredging processes and equipment, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Utilize data analysis and stakeholder feedback to drive process improvements and technological advancements
• Work closely with key stakeholders, including the estimation division and operations department, to ensure technical developments align with operational needs and objectives
• Facilitate cross-departmental communication to ensure cohesive and successful project execution
• Explore and identify key research areas and opportunities for innovation within dredging technology.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and maintain competitive advantage
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and reports on project outcomes, ensuring clarity and precision
• Ensure all activities and projects comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, quality objectives, and company procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure adherence and promote excellence

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Dredging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Maritime Engineering, or other relevant disciplines
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in a related discipline, or equivalent
• Minimum 05 years of relevant experience in (marine) construction and /or dredging is an advantage OR Minimum 08 years of relevant experience in (marine) construction and /or dredging is an advantage
• Knowledge of dredging technologies, equipment, and methodologies.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends relevant to the dredging industry.
• Good communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Eager to learn and use new tools and software
