Job description

We are seeking an experienced Civil Draughtsman with a strong background in road and highway projects to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, plans, and designs using CAD software, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings for road projects, including alignments, cross-sections, drainage systems, and pavement designs.
• Work closely with engineers and surveyors to develop accurate and constructible designs.
• Produce plan and profile drawings, grading plans, and utility layouts for road construction.
• Ensure all drawings comply with local regulations, design standards, and client requirements.
• Assist in quantity take-offs and preparation of bill of quantities (BOQ).
• Review and update drawings based on site feedback and design revisions.
• Maintain organized documentation of all project drawings and revisions.
• Collaborate with project teams to resolve design conflicts and technical issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma/Certificate in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other relevant CAD software.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil drafting, specifically in road/highway projects.
• Strong understanding of road design standards, geometrics, and earthworks.
• Knowledge of drainage design, pavement layers, and road construction methods.
• Ability to interpret survey data, engineering sketches, and specifications.
• Attention to detail and ability to produce error-free technical drawings.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) for infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS).
• Knowledge of local authority submission requirements.
