Job summary

Quest Global Technologies Ltd. in Sharjah is seeking a Steel Structural Draftsman to support the structural design team.

The role involves coordinating with the Lead Structural Engineer, and producing 2D/3D drawings and layouts using AutoCAD and Inventor per engineer instructions. Ideal candidates have an Associate Degree in CAD Technology and 4+ years in structural design, with strong communication and the ability to take direction.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical degree in CAD/Engineering related field.
• 4+ years working in structural design.
• 4+ years experience with Autodesk Inventor and/or AutoCAD in 2D/3D.
• Structural aptitude required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience drafting for large industrial equipment and processes is a plus.
• Ability to take direction and communicate effectively to complete tasks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with the Lead Structural Engineer on job phases, activities, and schedules.
• Creates structural details and layout drawings using AutoCAD/Inventor per engineer instructions.
• Produces steel drawings including layouts, connection details, walkways, stairs, ladders, and foundation drawings.
• Collaborates with project managers and engineering team to meet client needs in a timely, on-budget manner.
• Helps develop and maintain CAD standards for the structural department.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Project Operations Manager or Lead Structural Engineer.

JOB RESPONSLITIES OF STEEL STRUCTURAL DRAFTSMAN :Role & Responsibilities

• Coordinates with the Lead Structural Engineer on job phases, activities, and schedules with the assignment of eachjob.
• Works closely with the project managers and engineering/design department, using Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor2D files, 3D files and rough sketches to create structural details and layout drawings per engineer instructions andconcepts.
• Work closely with the Structural Engineer to produce structural steel drawings that include (but not limited to): steellayouts, connection details, industrial walkways, stairs and ladders, large equipment supports, large industrial ductsupports, various framing and column support connections, and foundation drawings.
• Work closely with Project Managers and the engineering team to execute the client’s needs and expectations, in atimely manner and on budget.
• Help create and maintain new structural CAD standards as we move forward in the growth of our new structuraldepartment.
• Performs any other duties as may be required, from time to time, by the Project Operations Manager or LeadStructural Engineer.

Qualifications
