Job summary

Caliberly is seeking a skilled Draftsman in Dubai, UAE, to prepare accurate landscape and civil drawings. You will work with landscape designers, engineers, and site teams to translate concepts into construction-ready drawings, including hardscape, irrigation, planting plans, grading, and drainage.

Ideal candidates have 3–6 years of experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and familiarity with landscape and external works.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Drafting, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience as a Draftsman, preferably in landscape or civil construction projects.
• Strong experience preparing landscape and hardscape construction drawings.
• Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D technical drawings for landscape and civil works using AutoCAD.
• Convert landscape concepts and design sketches into accurate construction drawings.
• Develop softscape, hardscape, planting, paving, grading, and setting-out plans.
• Prepare detailed sections, elevations, layouts, and construction details.
• Incorporate design revisions and site changes accurately into drawings.

Job Title – Draftsman
Location: Dubai, UAE

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman to prepare accurate technical drawings and construction documentation for landscape and outdoor development projects. The role will work closely with landscape designers, civil engineers, project managers, and site teams to convert design concepts into practical, construction-ready drawings.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in landscape drafting, hardscape, softscape, irrigation, paving, grading, drainage, and external works, with excellent proficiency in AutoCAD. Landscape drafting roles in Dubai commonly require preparation of planting plans, hardscape layouts, grading, drainage, irrigation, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Drafting & Design

• Prepare detailed 2D technical drawings for landscape and civil works using AutoCAD.
• Convert landscape concepts and design sketches into accurate construction drawings.
• Develop softscape, hardscape, planting, paving, grading, and setting-out plans.
• Prepare detailed sections, elevations, layouts, and construction details.
• Incorporate design revisions and site changes accurately into drawings.

Landscape & Hardscape Drawings

• Prepare detailed drawings for paving, kerbs, pathways, walls, planters, steps, decks, and other landscape elements.
• Develop planting layouts and coordinate plant schedules with design requirements.
• Prepare grading and level plans to support proper site execution.
• Develop drainage layouts and coordinate levels with civil and landscape requirements.
• Prepare construction details for landscape structures and external works.

Irrigation & Water Features

• Prepare irrigation layouts including mainlines, lateral lines, sprinklers, drip systems, valves, and associated components.
• Coordinate irrigation drawings with landscape and site layouts.
• Prepare drawings for swimming pools, water features, fountains, and related external works where applicable.
• Coordinate specialist systems with civil, MEP, and landscape drawings.

Shop Drawings & Construction Documentation

• Prepare detailed shop drawings based on approved designs and project specifications.
• Produce construction-ready drawings with accurate dimensions, levels, materials, and specifications.
• Prepare as-built drawings reflecting actual site installation.
• Prepare drawings required for consultant and authority approvals.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision records, and document-control procedures.

Coordination

• Coordinate drawings with landscape architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers, project managers, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Identify discrepancies and clashes between different disciplines.
• Incorporate consultant and client comments into revised drawings.
• Participate in technical coordination meetings when required.
• Ensure drawings are fully coordinated before submission or site execution.

Site Support

• Conduct site visits to verify dimensions, levels, and existing conditions.
• Update drawings based on actual site measurements and construction progress.
• Provide technical drawing support to site engineers and supervisors.
• Assist in resolving drawing-related issues during construction.
• Ensure final drawings accurately reflect approved design and site conditions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Drafting, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience as a Draftsman, preferably within landscape or civil construction projects.
• Strong experience preparing landscape and hardscape construction drawings.
• Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of irrigation layouts, grading, drainage, paving, and external works.
• UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.
• Experience with SketchUp, Revit, Lumion, Photoshop, or similar software is an advantage. Dubai landscape drafting roles frequently value these additional visualization and drafting tools.
