Job summary

Job Description for Offshore Welding Activities: Hook Up Designer

1. Preparation of offshore welds joint markups on engineering design drawings.
2. Preparation of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) / Weld Map Drawings and Weld Summary List (WSL) for offshore welds.
3. Calculating weld lengths for estimating welding consumables.
4. Understanding client standards related to component categories and NDT requirements.
5. Familiarity with brownfield hookup / transportation & installation related welds.
6. Coordination with yard and related engineering disciplines (structural, E&I, piping, etc.).
7. Understanding piping isometric drawings for offshore weld markups and WSL.
8. Familiarity with offshore installation methods, including installation aids and additional supporting structures.

Additional Requirements:

• Knowledge of welding, metal fabrication, and basic machining processes.
• Ability to interpret drawings.
• Knowledge of steel, aluminum, and stainless materials.
• Strong math skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
