Position Overview

The Dive Operations Associate is responsible for delivering an excellent guest experience by maintaining the professional appearance and cleanliness of aquariums and animal habitats. The role also involves ensuring the health and safety of animals, guests, and colleagues.

Physical Requirements and Work Schedule

This position requires standing for prolonged periods, moving/lifting up to 45kgs, and working in confined spaces. It involves working in various shifts based on business needs, including opening, mid, and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Maintain cleanliness, integrity, and appearance of exhibits and underwater facilities throughout the park, including decorative and holding pools.
  2. Ensure all dive operation safety measures are followed at all times.
  3. Maintain rescue and basic life support skills at test-ready levels.
  4. Complete accurate daily dive logs and records.
  5. Prepare and safely store diving equipment and materials before and after park operations.
  6. Report inventory status used for diving operations to leadership.
  7. Maintain professional development on all OSHMS dive regulations.
  8. Complete all required training by the department and facilities.
  9. Handle, store, and dispose of toxic substances and hazardous waste safely, following company policies.
  10. Participate in dive emergency exercises.
  11. Assist other zoological team members with underwater equipment as necessary.
  12. Lift/move loads from 12 to 45 kgs with or without accommodation.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Minimum Requirements
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. SCUBA/Open Water Diver Certified or equivalent.
  3. At least 1 year of diving experience or equivalent education and experience.
  4. 20 logged open water dives within the last 2 years.
  5. Basic English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  6. Excellent diving skills.
  7. Ability to swim 200 meters nonstop and float for 15 minutes.
  8. Basic mathematical skills.
