Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Disability Support Specialist (Occupational Therapist / Speech Therapist / RN) to join a client’s team in Australia. The role offers flexible living arrangements, with private bedroom and ensuite or independent local housing as options.

The candidate must have at least one of the listed credentials (OT, SLT, RN) and 5+ years in disability care, including toilet training expertise. You will support both children and adults with autism in a home setting.

Remuneration: $80,000+ AUD per annum (based on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, highly skilled professional to join our client’s team in Australia to provide dedicated support for both children and adults with autism. This role offers flexible living arrangements, with the option for live-in accommodation (private bedroom and ensuite bathroom provided) or independent local rental.

• Note: While candidates may hold qualifications as an Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, or Registered Nurse, the successful candidate will formally work under the Disability Support Worker classification in Australia.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized daily support and behavioral assistance tailored to children and adults on the autism spectrum.
• Conduct specialized toilet training programs and manage comprehensive personal care needs with dignity and respect.
• Implement support strategies that align with therapeutic goals to enhance the client's quality of life.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment within the home.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Professional Background: Must hold at least one of the following credentials:
  • Qualified Occupational Therapist
  • Qualified Speech Therapist
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with direct, hands-on autism care experience
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in disability care or relevant clinical practice.
• Specialized Skills: Proven hands-on experience in toilet training techniques for individuals with autism.
• Versatility: Comfortable and experienced in working with both pediatric and adult clients.
• Personal Care: Full willingness to handle hands‑on personal hygiene and daily living support.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive starting base salary of $80,000 AUD (negotiable upward based on qualifications and depth of experience).
