About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Director of Virtual Design Construction (VDC) to join Dubai Holding Real Estate. They will be responsible for the implementation of corporate VDC (Virtual Design & Construction), Digital Twinging of key projects, and Digital Construction tools & processes during design, construction, and handover of assigned projects. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
VDC Implementation & Management:
- Lead the application of VDC technologies and methodologies across all phases of construction projects, driving efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration in execution.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of VDC initiatives across the full portfolio, ensuring precision, integrity, and seamless integration to optimize efficiency and deliver project excellence.
- Communicate with project stakeholders and optimize workflows using advanced VDC tools to streamline operations, reduce inefficiencies, and improve overall project coordination.
- Ensure seamless integration of VDC and Digital Construction processes at every stage of the project to maintain consistency, improve project visualization, and enhance decision-making.
- Monitor adherence to VDC standards and guidelines, ensuring accurate documentation and data exchange across teams to maintain project integrity, minimize errors, and enhance transparency.
- Conduct rigorous audits of VDC models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements to uphold quality standards and mitigate risks associated with design discrepancies. BIM & Digital Construction Advancements:
- Collaborate with the design team to develop and reinforce BIM model standards for improved VDC deliverables to enhance project visualization, coordination, and execution.
- Prepare 3D BIM models for analysis, phasing simulation, and reporting as required to support informed decision-making and improve project planning.
- Run 3D construction simulations to optimize sequencing, identify conflicts, and improve construction planning to enhance project efficiency, reduce rework, and ensure cost-effective execution.
Digital Transformation & Innovation:
- Develop and manage a comprehensive digital twin and digital transformation strategy, including required systems, software, and infrastructure to drive innovation, operational efficiency, and long-term digital readiness.
- Stay updated on evolving technologies and industry trends to recommend innovations that benefit the business by continuously improving processes, reducing costs, and maintaining a competitive edge.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and relevant departments to ensure successful VDC adoption by fostering cross-functional collaboration and driving alignment on VDC methodologies.
- Liaise with external consultants to implement VDC and Digital Construction policies where applicable to ensure compliance with best practices and enhance project outcomes.
About you:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- A degree or professional certification such as Project Management (or equivalent) is desirable.
- Knowledge of BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650, National VDC Standards) and industry best practices
- Minimum 12+ years experience, with at least 5 years experience at a managerial level in a Project Management department for a large property developer.
- Experience in setting and implementing BIM & Digital Construction process.
- Experience working with consultants in identifying and resolving BIM model quality issues and clashes.
- Experience in 3D, 4D, 5D, and 6D BIM
- Knowledge of innovation in construction and digital deliver
