A Director of Sales (Government) manages the hotel sales and marketing plans by recommending growth efforts, monitoring progress, and ensuring that the hotel is competitively positioned within the local marketplace. This role reports to the Director of Sales (All Segments) and is at an Assistant Head of Department level.

What will I be doing?

As Director of Sales (Government), you will work closely with the Senior Management Team to drive business needs and expand existing business through promotional efforts and sales channels. Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing hotel sales plans to support business objectives and focusing sales efforts across market segments.
  • Collaborating with senior management to identify and support key business areas.
  • Preparing contracts in line with current business and pricing conditions.
  • Managing the forecasting process with the Revenue Department to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reports such as forecasts, lead management, and booking reports.
  • Participating in the development of the annual Sales and Market Plan, quarterly updates, and hotel budgets, and executing strategies to adapt to market changes.
  • Developing and monitoring local sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Providing comprehensive information about the hotel’s products and services through appropriate sales channels.
  • Producing timely reports for hotel management.
  • Presenting monthly sales activities and contributions to hotel owners and senior management.
  • Collaborating with other departments to enhance guest experiences and sales programs.
  • Participating in management meetings to develop sales and marketing initiatives.
