Job description

This role will include directing the formulation and implementation of policies for the Safety and Security Division Business Unit to secure orders and execute projects and maintenance contracts profitably to meet the corporate strategy.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the process of seeking bookings of new orders by identifying bids for tenders, submitting bids, negotiating, and booking projects to increase revenue and improve profits.
  2. Oversee the estimation of jobs for more accurate bidding and competitiveness in booking jobs.
  3. Supervise the execution of projects from design, build, erection, installation, testing, commissioning, to handover, ensuring compliance with client specifications.
  4. Recommend the purchase of approved materials to control costs and achieve better profitability.
  5. Responsible for the selection, recruitment, and training of staff to ensure the best talent pool for efficient job execution with optimum resources.
  6. Ensure all work complies with quality, healthcare regulations, safety standards, corporate ethics, and governance.
  7. Initiate and execute actions for resource consolidation to reduce costs and grow the division with consistent profitability improvements. Collect and distribute invoices accordingly.
  8. Strategically collaborate and grow within the Industrial and Oil & Gas segments.
  9. Focus efforts on consolidating offerings in ICT and firefighting/fire alarm segments.

Desired Experience:

  1. Minimum educational qualifications: Graduation in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; an MBA is an added advantage.
  2. Relevant work experience: 20-25 years.
  3. Behavioral and functional competencies: strong leadership, motivation, negotiation skills, excellent risk management, deep market knowledge, and English language proficiency.
  4. Experience as a Head of Business with P&L responsibility.
  5. Experience managing in life safety, fire protection, and ICT segments with a focus on growth and profitability.
