Job Description

Novotel Bur Dubai is looking for a Director of Operations,

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Ensure the smooth operation and coordination of the hotel through respective Department Heads (Front Office, Housekeeping, Spa & Health Club, Food & Beverage, and Culinary)
  • Provide leadership that engages and motivates our team of guest-oriented Heartists
  • Ensure a high level of passion for guest service among Heartists to achieve the #1 Guest Service spot in North & Central America
  • Direct operational needs to ensure compliance with the hotel’s Annual Budget and 5-Year Strategic Plan
  • Provide coaching, leadership development, and goal setting with hotel department heads
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Operations Budget/Plan and achieve profit objectives
  • Ensure monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Spa are accurately achieved
  • Lead yield management for Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Spa
  • Contribute to redevelopment and capital projects from an operations perspective
  • Implement and uphold all Fairmont Standards
  • Handle guest concerns and ensure effective follow-up
  • Assist in Labor Management and maintaining productivity levels
  • Respond to guest comments, complaints, and requests
  • Approve contracts related to services (cleaning, maintenance, repair, telephones, etc.) with the Director of Finance
  • Promote a culture of Health and Safety and accident prevention
  • Lead hotel committees as a culture champion
  • Oversee services to The Residences (condo board association)
  • Participate as a key member of the Hotel Executive Committee and Leadership Team
  • Lead change management initiatives for Rooms and Food & Beverage
  • Act as General Manager in their absence

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive operations management experience in Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Spa operations
  • Knowledge of budget planning and execution
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in hospitality is an asset
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple departments to achieve targeted VOG, GOP, EES, and Safety results
  • Exceptional interpersonal and guest relations skills
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills with coaching ability
  • Ability to motivate leaders to innovate and focus on guest satisfaction and profitability
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and various schedules
