Job Description

Novotel Bur Dubai is Looking for Director Of Operations,

What You Will Be Doing:

  1. Ensure the smooth operation and coordination of the hotel through respective Department Heads (Front Office, Housekeeping, Spa & Health Club, Food & Beverage, and Culinary)
  2. Provide leadership that engages and motivates our team of exceptionally guest-oriented Heartists
  3. Ensure a level of passion for guest service in our Heartists that achieves the #1 Guest Service spot in the North & Central America.
  4. Direct operational needs to ensure compliance with the hotel’s Annual Budget and 5 Year Strategic Plan
  5. Provide coaching; leadership development; and goal setting with hotel department heads
  6. Assist in the preparation of the annual Operations Budget/Plan and achieve the profit objectives therein
  7. Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage and Spa are accurately achieved
  8. Play a lead role in yield management for Rooms, Food & Beverage and Spa
  9. Be a key player in redevelopment and capital projects from an operations viewpoint
  10. Ensure the implementation and delivery of all Fairmont Standards
  11. Handle all guest concerns and ensure effective follow-up thereof
  12. Assist in Labor Management and the maintenance of productivity levels
  13. Follow up on all guest comments, responding to any guest complaints or requests
  14. Approve with the Director of Finance, all contracts (i.e., cleaning, maintenance & repair, telephones, etc.)
  15. Provide active leadership role in the culture of Health and Safety and accident prevention
  16. Act as hotel champion and culture leader in hotel committees
  17. Oversee services rendered to The Residences (condo board association).
  18. Function as key member of the Hotel Executive Committee and Leadership Team, providing support and assistance to the Senior Managers and Executive Team
  19. Play a key role and lead change management for Rooms and Food & Beverage initiatives
  20. Assume the responsibilities of the General Manager in his/her absence

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Operations management with extensive experience in Rooms, Food & Beverage management and Spa operations experience
  2. Clear knowledge of budget planning & execution
  3. Post-secondary diploma/degree in hospitality an asset
  4. Proven record to coordinate multiple departments to make gains towards targeted VOG, GOP, EES and Health & Safety results
  5. Exceptional interpersonal and guest relations skills
  6. Proven team-leader with outstanding motivational skills and coaching ability
  7. Ability to motivate developing leaders to act as entrepreneurs while implementing innovative, profit-driven, guest satisfaction-oriented solutions
  8. Comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays, and various schedules
