Job Description

Novotel Bur Dubai is looking for a Director of Operations.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Ensure the smooth operation and coordination of the hotel through respective Department Heads (Front Office, Housekeeping, Spa & Health Club, Food & Beverage, and Culinary).
  • Provide leadership that engages and motivates our team of guest-oriented Heartists.
  • Ensure a high level of passion for guest service to achieve the #1 Guest Service spot in the North & Central America.
  • Direct operational needs to ensure compliance with the hotel’s Annual Budget and 5-Year Strategic Plan.
  • Provide coaching, leadership development, and goal setting with hotel department heads.
  • Assist in preparing the annual Operations Budget/Plan and achieving profit objectives.
  • Ensure accurate achievement of monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Spa.
  • Lead yield management for Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Spa.
  • Play a key role in redevelopment and capital projects from an operations perspective.
  • Ensure implementation and delivery of all Fairmont Standards.
  • Handle guest concerns and ensure effective follow-up.
  • Assist in Labor Management and maintaining productivity levels.
  • Follow up on guest comments, responding to complaints or requests.
  • Approve contracts (e.g., cleaning, maintenance, repair, telephones) with the Director of Finance.
  • Lead the culture of Health and Safety and accident prevention.
  • Act as hotel champion and culture leader in hotel committees.
  • Oversee services to The Residences (condo board association).
  • Participate as a key member of the Hotel Executive Committee and Leadership Team, supporting Senior Managers and the Executive Team.
  • Lead change management initiatives for Rooms and Food & Beverage.
  • Assume General Manager responsibilities in their absence.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in operations management, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Spa operations.
  • Strong knowledge of budget planning and execution.
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in hospitality is an asset.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple departments to achieve targeted VOG, GOP, EES, and Health & Safety results.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and guest relations skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach teams.
  • Ability to inspire developing leaders to act as entrepreneurs and implement innovative, profit-driven, guest satisfaction solutions.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and various schedules.
