Job Purpose:
To establish the Financial Planning & Analysis (FPA) function at EDB. Develop and implement a framework for Financial Performance Reporting, Cost Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting, while taking a hands-on approach to managing BAU deliverables.
Provide financial analysis and insights to the CFO, CEO, and EXCOM members to support business decisions and monitor overall financial health.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
Functional Role:
Financial Performance Reporting
- Manage EDB's financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Improve or replace financial models used for generating financial performance reports for the CFO & Executive Committee.
- Continuously improve existing Performance Reporting (Group Financials, Profit Centre Results, Dashboards & Cost Summaries).
- Ensure presentation and distribution of financial information are best practice, graphical, frequent, and timely.
- Support financial analysis with insights and recommend strategies to enhance financial performance.
- Escalate urgent issues to the CFO and handle turnaround requests from CEO, CFO, and other EXCOM members related to Group Financial Performance.
- Act as a source of market intelligence through comparative analysis against peer banks and regional financial institutions.
FPA Framework
- Scope, define, and document the Group FPA policy and procedures.
- Collaborate with the CFO’s direct reports on ALM/FTP system implementation to enhance Group Financial Reporting according to best practices.
- Enhance Profit Centre reporting aligned with framework principles & policy.
- Develop, establish, and implement customer- and product-based financials integrated with Group Financial Performance Reporting.
- Develop and implement cost accounting MI to better understand cost drivers.
Cost Management
- Serve as the center of excellence for management and reporting of costs across EDB and its subsidiaries.
- Work with the Financial Accounting team to establish project and capex accounting reporting and analysis, including controls to ensure accuracy.
- Provide recommendations to the CFO and EXCOM on effective and sustainable cost management strategies.
Governance and Oversight
- Be the key contact for the Group's Financial Performance Reports distributed to the CFO and EXCOM, explaining financial outcomes.
- Support Board Committees with review and preparation of financial reports and analyses.
- Become a knowledge expert on Group Policy and Procedures related to Financial Reporting and propose improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
Finance Role Model
- Provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues in the Finance department.
- Model appropriate behaviors when engaging with stakeholders.
- Develop and promote best practice financial modeling skills across the team.
